Tim's BANJO HALL OF FAME INDUCTION - Sept. 11, 2015

On September 11, 2015, Tim Allan was inducted into the American Banjo Hall Of Fame in Oklahoma City for the second time, along with other notable inductees such as PETE SEEGER and STEVE MARTIN. 

Tim is one of only three inductees who have won this privileged honor of re-induction since the founding of the Banjo Hall of Fame in 1998.

In 2002, Tim was inducted in the category of "Performance" (L) and in September, 2015, he was inducted in the category of "Education"(R).

The day after the ceremony, inductees had a chance to perform in the Banjo Museum's entertainment room. Tim enjoyed playing two songs with the Banjo Museum's owner, Jack Canine.

Europe, May 2015

Tim returned to Germany again in May of 2015 for performances in Wuerzburg and Pforzheim.

                                             Tim had various guests performing with him.

         Tim and Nida enjoyed a musical visit with popular banjoist, Dierk Frerichs, in Sinsheim.

                     Nida and Tim had spare time to return to Paris and other parts of France.

2015 JazzSea Caribbean Cruise - MS Ryndam, Jan. 18 - 25

After taking one year off, JazzSea cruises arranged a wonderful 7- day cruise leaving from Tampa, Florida, to the western Caribbean, including Key West, Honduras, Guatemala, and Costa Maya Mexico, aboard Holland America's MS Ryndam cruise ship.
I had many opportunities to perform, on my own and with various bands - lots of fun! The Banjos Aweigh band had 35 players, making music on their banjos,  harmonicas, drums, tuba, trombone, clarinet, ukuleles, and washboards. It was especially enjoyable for my wife and me since we had many friends on board.
 Next year's 10 - day south Caribbean cruise, Jan. 8 - 18, 2016,  aboard the Holland America MS Oosterdam should be great trip.  Check out www.jazzsea.com for further information.

European Concerts May/June 2014

In late May, 2014, I performed in Pforzheim, Germany again for 2 nights of concerts. Various musical guests appeared on each night so I had fun with them onstage, as you can see in the following photos.

After Germany, I played a one night concert  near Bolzano in the beautiful Dolomite section of northern Italy, the "Sud-Tirol", along with the recording artist, Thomas, and his trumpet.

MSC Divina Cruise 2013

Since JazzSea Cruises took a year's sabbatical, I performed instead for the organization called JazzFest At Sea on the beautiful new MSC liner called the "Divina".  We sailed out of Miami on November 30, 2013 and returned from our wonderful Caribbean tour on December 7. 

I arranged daily banjo jam sessions with banjo players, including Howard Alden, seen here.

 I saw this painting in Jamaica and found the musical theme to be perfect for our cruise!
